In January 2026, BeaconHouse Events supported on the delivery of Invest North East: Energy & Innovation at the Crowne Plaza Newcastle; a high-profile showcase positioning the North East of England at the forefront of the UK’s green energy sector. Developed in partnership with the North East Combined Authority, Lloyds Banking Group and the Office for Investment, the event brought together global industry leaders, national decision-makers and international investors to unlock large-scale opportunities for green growth across the region.
The programme was designed to spotlight the North East’s most significant green growth investment propositions, aligned with the region’s Local Growth Plan to create 24,000 clean energy jobs by 2035 and unlock £3bn of investment. It opened with a cultural film screening and spoken word performance of Threads in the Ground, followed by a Q&A with Mayor Karen Clark on the piece. From 11am, the main event unfolded with contributions from Sir Robin Budenberg (Chair of Lloyds Banking Group), Dan Labbad (The Crown Estate) and Kim McGuinness (North East Mayor), expertly hosted by BBC Radio 4’s Anna Foster, alongside a programme of focused breakout sessions. Lightning talks, curated networking and a busy exhibition space for North East businesses ensured meaningful connection throughout the day.
BeaconHouse Events provided end to end event management and live delivery; overseeing planning, production, speaker & supplier liaison, exhibition management and onsite operations to ensure a seamless, purposeful experience. Our focus was on creating a confident, investor-ready environment that reflected the scale of opportunity in the North East — positioning the region as open, ambitious and ready to lead the UK’s green growth future.
“In the region, we use BeaconHouse for a number of events. Even when the stakes are high, with high profile attendees and issues, the team are exceptional. They are professional, pleasant and calm. I have no hesitation in recommending the BeaconHouse team.” Phil Witcherley, Director of Economic Growth and Innovation at the North East Combined Authority.
