Just as we were about to hit ‘publish’ on our 2025 year wrap-up, an email landed; “Top 50 Agencies 2025: The anatomy of a leading events agency.”
Naturally, curiosity got the better of us.
Scrolling through, we spotted some familiar themes. Mega-mergers. Multi-service juggernauts delivering complex, high-value contracts across the globe. Sip coffee. Pensively think: we deliver complex, high-value contracts across the UK and Ireland…
Read on. Almost half the agencies on the list employ fewer than 30 people. Oh. That’s us too.
Then; 60% of the agencies are based outside London.
Now we’re listening.
It can be a tough gig getting national recognition in our industry when you’re based as far north as Newcastle. Don’t get us wrong – we’ve managed it (hair flick) – but more often than not, it involves travelling to London to pick up the trophy. We still see North-East based organisations delivering major events with more southern agencies and find ourselves wondering, do they just not know we’re here?
What this list makes clear is that there’s no single route to success anymore. Yes, consolidation and scale are shaping the top of the market – but agility, smart decision-making post-pandemic, fresh creativity, strong client relationships and the confidence to expand into new markets are just as powerful. Almost all of the Top 50 (including us) are full-service agencies, acting as deeply integrated, strategic partners to their clients. That’s a description we’re proud to recognise ourselves in.
